LEGO Rock Raiders: About the game and such...
LEGO Rock Raiders is a computer game distributed by the LEGO Company. It's about the crew of this spaceship trying to collect enough of these thing called Energy Crystals to break orbit of this alien planet.
Inside the planet are various caverns. There are two minerals that can be found there, Ore (which is the most common one) and Energy Crystals. Energy Crystals are relatively rare so you have to order your Rock Raiders to drill down loads of walls just to get some. The wall types that you can find there are: Dirt- the easiest to drill; Loose Rock- not as easy to drill; Hard Rock- cannot be drilled by hand, vehicles or dynamite needed for these; Solid Rock- un-drillable by anything; Energy Crystal Seams- contains mainly Energy Crystals, can be drilled by hand; Ore Seams- contains mainly Ore, can be drilled by hand; and Recharge Seams- the recharge decharged Energy Crystals, can't be drilled.
Also there are three cavern types: Rock, Ice and Lava. With the Lava Caverns it's just warmer than usual plus there are glowing rocks everywhere. However in the Ice Caverns the walls are made of rock, but coated or mixed with ice. In the caverns are cave creatures. They consist of: Small Spiders- the most common creatures, harmless; Bats- harmless; Scorpions- Harmless; Snakes- movies only but harmless; Slimy Slugs- harmless, or so they seem, they survive by sucking the power from Energy Crystals and will happily do the same to building; Monsters- Dangerous! They eat Energy Crystals and have no qualms about attacking your base. Monsters come in three types: Rock, Ice and Lava, each variety lives in its respective cavern type.
In the game, to make operations go smoother, you have to build a base in some missions. The building inventory goes like this:
1.)Tool Store
Availability: Available at the beginning of all missions. This is the starting point for each base.
Tasks: Operates as a temporary personell teleport pad. Stores tools, dynamite, Electric Fences, Ore and Crystals (until you build the Power Station).
Upgrades: 2. UP1: You can build the Teleport Pad. UP2: You can train Rock Raiders to use explosives.
Minerals: None
Notes: Doesn't need a Power Station to operate. Also you can beam down more if you wish. To upgrade any building you need at least five pieces of ore.
2.)Teleport Pad
Availabilty: Requires Rock Raiders and a UP1 Tool Store.
Tasks: Can be used to beam down small vehicles and train pilots.
Upgrades: 2. UP1: You can build the Power Station and Docks. UP2: You can beam down advanced small buildings once the Support Station is up and Running.
Minerals: 8 Pieces of Ore.
Notes: Like all other buildings, has to be built next to a Power Path. The exception is the first Tool Store. Can't Function without Power Station.
3.)Docks
Availability: Requires Rock Raiders, a UP1 Toolstore & UP1 Teleport Pad.
Tasks: Enables use of water craft and can train sailors.
Upgrades: None.
Minerals: 8 Ore and 1 Crystal.
Notes: Has to be built next to water. Can't function without Power Station.
4.)Power Station
Availabilty: Needs Rock Raiders, a UP1 Toolstore & a UP1 Teleport Pad.
Tasks: Generates power for the buildings.
Upgrades: 1. UP1: You can build the Support Station, Upgrade Station, Geological Centre and Ore Refinery.
Minerals: 12 Ore and 2 Crystals.
Notes: Needs at least one Crystal to be stored for power production.
5.)Support Station
Availability: 1 Rock Raider, a UP1 Tool Store, a UP1 Teleport Pad & a UP1 Power Station.
Tasks: Cleans air, Rock Raiders eat here, enables the beaming of ground and air vehicles, trains drivers.
Upgrades: 2. UP1: You can build the Super Teleport and the Mining Laser. UP2: With the Super Teleport, you can beam down large vehicles.
Minerals: 15 Ore and 3 Crystals.
Notes: Useful in low air missions. One of the five essential buildings.
6.)Upgrade Station
Availabilty: 1 Rock Raider, UP 1 Tool Store, a UP Teleport Pad & a UP1 Power Station.
Tasks: Upgrades vehicles and trains engineers.
Upgrades: 1. UP1: Vehicle upgrades take less time.
Minerals: 20 Ore and 3 Crystals.
Notes: One of the five essential buildings. Useful where monsters are involved.
7.)Geological Centre
